Armando has asked me to thank you for your support. Thanks to you he has been able to move on and will be putting up his antenna in the next few days. We had great support from RSGB in the matter of design and planning matters, and some useful discussion on the state of planning laws. We also had some feedback which enables us to conclude our business with Canterbury City Council and East Kent Housing over what went wrong. For this we have compiled a draft report at the link below as we are about resolving the matters that caused the issue in the first place. There are some worrying issues regarding how radio amateurs are part of the community and have a heritage of developing and providing emergency communications for communities. Armando told me how despite his poor English, he managed to save lives in Southern Africa by responding to an appeal for medicines - organising communications from UK to Namibia via Portugal using amateur radio. We also discovered a risk that radio amateurs and others may be treated like minorities and not included in the plans being developed under new planning laws, despite them being designed to include all members of the community. We think we are therefore about done with this campaign, but may yet need to start another. Thanks from us too!
