Armando accepted an exchange of accommodation moving from Herne Bay to Canterbury on the understanding that his hobby would be supported there as assured by CEO of East Kent Housing (EKH). He is now located in Canterbury having completed the move this week with the support of two willing volunteers from Gravesham Sea Cadets, Jack and Jordan. EKH provided a clear and fair policy relating to any attachments or modifications to the property. Armando has assured them that he will comply and after all plans have been submitted, he will set up temporary antennae and be operational within a few weeks having settled in, bearing in mind he needs to recover from the move and he has a fairly busy schedule for a guy of 76 Years. The campaign thanks everyone who contributed and commented on our updates. For those of you who asked about the Radio Society of Great Britain and their involvement, and also Channel 5. We kept an open mind as far as C5 were concerned. they didn't respond to our complaint. The RSGB did tackle channel 5 but never published any response. (It's their job to ensure amateur radio is seen in the best possible light). We think had it not been for Channel 5 highlighting Armando's story where would we be now? Bearing in mind it was the nightmare neighbours next door to Armando who called them in, we think they did a good job in highlighting their own character(s). We didn't believe that anyone could support them in their ugly venture. As it stands lessons have and are still to be learnt. Our focus was on making sure Armando was safe. Our new priority will be to follow up on some of the issues raised. We remain engaged with the RSGB and the planning department at Canterbury City Council. We should hear back from them soon but once again thanks to 2175 people for seeing and supporting our point. We couldn't have got this far without you:) So far so good :)
