On January 31st 2021, Canterbury Christ Church University 2020 Graduates would not receive a formal graduation ceremony as promised to them. Due to Coronavirus, the original ceremonies were postponed until January. These were then postponed again until ‘spring 2021’. It comes with great disappointment, that hundreds of students have discovered that they will not receive a ceremony through a post on the university’s website. The website states that 2020 graduates will receive their graduation via Zoom. 
Many students feel let down and cheated by the university’s decision to cancel the formal ceremonies completely. A special day that many students look forward to for years has been snatched away from them. 
COVID-19 has negatively impacted university students more than many people realise and for hundreds of students to not receive a ‘proper’ graduation ceremony is just another let down to add to the pile. 

We are asking that Canterbury Christ Church University to not give up on their 2020 graduates and provide them with a formal ceremony that they rightfully deserve, when Coronavirus is more under control. It gives the graduates something to look forward to.
