See current events through the true lense of history: DO NOT FIRE Janna Matykiewicz

The Issue

The news that an Assistant Principal in our city’s High School was under investigation today with the possibility of losing her job after allegedly making a post that stated “What’s the difference between vaccination papers and a yellow star? 82 years” should not be thought of negatively if you know anything about how the Nazi regime began its horrific attempted annihilation of a people group that they perceived as a threat to their delusional ideals.

If you’re thinking there might be anything off color or racist about that statement then think again.

Another teacher at our school, a History teacher, responded, “82 years … apparently a generation that doesn’t seem to know their History. The yellow star just targeted Jews … the vaccine papers don’t discriminate … but remember they first gamed the system to get Hitler appointed as Der Fuhrer, then they took over the media, police force, & educational system (Hitler Jugend),…”

In light of that, ponder this quote:

“History repeats itself, but in such cunning disguise that we never detect the resemblance until the damage is done.” -Sydney J Harris

Ms. Matykiewicz’s comment was one hundred percent in line with conservative beliefs and TRUTH. Not everyone misconstrues all information to fit their misguided beliefs.

We want to support Ms. Matykiewicz and her statement that, to our understanding, meant that forcing any group of people to show that their identity is perceived as right or wrong (depending on ones political slant the right or wrong can go either direction) in order to separate them from others and appease the powers that be is wrong. It goes against the freedom on which our country was founded in the same way that the Germans went against basic rights of humanity.

This petition is in support of freedom of speech as we see it being in line with true historical atrocities, and not as the “anti-Semitic, anti-science, ignorant or hateful opinion intent" statement it’s being accusing of being.

In truth, we could make the same argument that anyone who is so ignorant as to have misconstrued Ms. Matykiewicz’s words is also irresponsible and perpetuating hate by bringing this slander against her.

The inability for people to carry on resonable discourse cannot be allowed to continue to ruin good peoples lives. Sign this petition to allow teachers and administrators to speak truth without losing their jobs.
