Cancel the Noma LA Pop-Up After Abuse Allegations

Cancel the Noma LA Pop-Up After Abuse Allegations
The Issue
Noma’s Los Angeles pop-up should not move forward as if nothing happened.
A recent New York Times investigation reported that dozens of former employees alleged physical and psychological abuse by chef René Redzepi over several years.
Redzepi has issued an apology, but the allegations are serious and deeply troubling.
In response to the report, major sponsors including American Express and Blackbird withdrew their support. That alone signals how serious this situation is.
Los Angeles should not host a high-profile, luxury dining residency while credible allegations of workplace abuse remain unresolved. Fine dining cannot come at the expense of worker dignity and safety.
We call on the organizers, venue partners, and remaining sponsors to cancel the Noma LA pop-up until an independent investigation into past workplace practices is conducted and meaningful reforms are verified.
Accountability must come before applause.
