This petition provides representation to thousands of Indian citizens enrolled in Canadian DLI’s, who have been impacted by Canada’s travel restriction on flights from India.

The only way to reach Canada is via a third country, which comes with its own risks. Passengers have been left stranded in countries on numerous occasions and there is no certainty of safe passage through any country. Sadly the circumstances are such that people have no alternatives and are being forced to travel despite the risk and monetary loss involved. Unfortunately the issue seems to have surpassed health and is leaning towards international relations now. Citizens of the United States are allowed to travel to Canada and as per latest news even non-essential travel from the US will be allowed soon. By accessing easily available statistics, it is evident that the US has a greater number of new cases than India, and a smaller vaccinated population. So singling out travelers from India when the country is witnessing steady dwindling of cases cannot be a decision born out of any objective criteria
