Kwey, Understanding the long-time sex discrimination in the Indian Act is not easy. It requires some effort and reading and listening and thinking. It is not possible to understand the matter through reading 900 words alone. Unfortunately, this makes it harder for Indigenous women to gain the support they need. Many people are inclined to believe the non-sense that the current Liberal government is spewing regarding what they call stage 2 consultations to address the sex discrimination. This is non-sense in that rights are rights, there is no need to consult. Indigenous women have the right to live free from sex discrimination. This does not require a consultation process with Chiefs of First Nations. The past Conservative government was no better than the current Liberal government as both Parties need to eliminate Indigenous rights.
