Bring up the MV Ingenika Tugboat from Ocean Floor
Why this petition matters

My name is Judy, my husband Troy was killed in an undetermined accident on Feb 11, 2021 on a tugboat near Kitimat BC. At the time Troy was working with two other shipmates on the tug (Charley Cragg and Zack). Troy and his crew left Kitimat Dock close to 4pm. They were supposed to be delivery a barge to Kemano but never made it that far. Early in the morning of the 11th, I was informed that the crew was missing and the tug sunk. We waited for many, many hours to find out that my beautiful and loving husband, the father to our 12 year had lost his life at sea. He and crewman Charley Cragg never survived this horrible accident. Fortunately, there was one surviver who will have a long road of recovery ahead of him.
The tug was pulling a large barge full of equipment heading to Kemano worksite. The tug was about 35 feet that they were on and the barge was 200 feet, full of supplies for a worksite in Kemano. The barge was unharmed but the tug somehow sunk and is nowhere to be found...sitting at the bottom of the sea.
The tug is not only full of possible answers but also very full of fuel. We have so many questions about what happened that night. We feel that the tug will not only answer questions but give us some closure as well. If they recover the tug, they may find out why that tugboat sunk, as tugboats aren't known to sink. There are so many factors and unanswered questions.
The tug is sitting at the bottom of Gardener Canal, which are near two rivers the Kemano River and the Kitlope River, which is a major wildlife and wilderness preserve. This Canal is also very close to both Hartley Bay and Kitimat. We have been told that there is no priority to find this tug because it isn't an environmental risk, which is hard to believe. And to top it off, there may be evidence of why the tug capsized and sank, taking the life of two and injuring another and leaving many grief stricken family and friends.
Please friends, help us by signing this petition. Sign and Share please. Let's get some answers for Troy's, Charley and Zack's families. Much Love, Judy Pearson
