The Issue

As an Iranian, I have witnessed firsthand the cruelty and oppression of the Iranian regime, which has massacred over 40,000 people in just two days in early January. The Iranian people were simply demanding basic human rights, yet faced unprecedented violence and brutality from their own government. Meanwhile, the families of those responsible for these heinous acts continue to live freely, study, and prosper in countries like Canada, far removed from the consequences of their actions.

It is incomprehensible and unacceptable that these individuals are able to enjoy the safety and opportunities that Canada offers, while the Iranian people suffer under systematic oppression and violence. Canada prides itself on upholding human rights and standing against atrocities worldwide, yet by allowing regime officials and their families into the country, we are indirectly supporting and enabling their actions.

We urge the Canadian government to take a stand against this regime by banning visas and residency for Iranian regime officials and their families. This action targets specific decision‑makers and uses existing immigration laws to block and remove families who benefit from the suffering of others.

Moreover, this measure would stand as a powerful statement of Canada's commitment to human rights and justice, demonstrating that the country will not be a haven for those who perpetrate or benefit from human rights abuses.

We call upon the Canadian government to use all available legal avenues to enforce this ban and to send a clear message that Canada will not tolerate the use of its territory as a refuge for those guilty of or benefiting from such crimes.

Please sign this petition to demand action from the Canadian government and to take a stand for the Iranian people who continue to fight for their basic human rights.
