Many people have asked for an update, and it is important to share where things stand.
Since our last public update on December 1, the matter has formally moved into the investigative stage.
An investigator from the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada has now been assigned to our complaint against Canada Post under the Access to Information Act. This investigation focuses on whether Canada Post improperly withheld records and whether additional records should exist to justify the closure of the Vic West postal outlet.
Earlier this week, we formally confirmed to the investigator that we are continuing with the complaint and provided additional documentation, including recent correspondence from a senior Canada Post executive and our written response. This material is now part of the official investigation record.
Because this is an active federal investigation, there are limits on what can be discussed publicly at this stage. What we can say is this, the process is now underway, it is being handled independently, and the questions our community raised are being examined through formal oversight channels.
This effort has always been about transparency and accountability. That remains the focus.
We will continue to keep the community informed when there are meaningful developments to share. Thank you to everyone who has stayed engaged, asked thoughtful questions and supported a fair and responsible process.
