Campaign to reduce the impact of food poverty on students at the University of Stirling

The Issue

Food poverty is an issue that has grown to affect more people over the last few years, and our campaign aims to reduce the impact at has on students. We are a Stirling based campaign with the goal of eradicating student food poverty at Stirling University, one step at a time. With your support we can urge the University of Stirling to take the essential steps to improve the well being of their students. Our objectives are as follows:

  • For the University of Stirling to provide free warm meal kits, with meal cards and sustainable packaging, to students in need regardless of dietary requirements
  • For the University of Stirling to provide microwaves and kettles for students to use on campus, as well as basic cleaning supplies to maintain hygiene standards; we know that the University does not have an issue with this, but we need this service to be extended across campus
  • For the University of Stirling to improve their Too Good To Throw scheme to be more sustainable and suitable for different dietary requirements
  • For the University of Stirling to reduce the prices in their on-campus food outlets, and to keep these prices lowered for the foreseeable future
  • For the University of Stirling to improve their Community Fridge program. This would include using the leftovers from on-campus food outlets to supply the fridge and maintaining a regular supply schedule
