Tonight: Important Meeting about Harvard Square Kiosk!

Hello Supporters of the Harvard Square Kiosk, Cambridge City Council’s Commission will be holding a public hearing TONIGHT at Cambridge City Hall, 6:00-8:00 pm about the progress on the Harvard Square Re-design and the formation of the Harvard Square Redesign Task Force. Please come out and join! When: Wednesday September 28, 2016 6 PM - 8 PM TONIGHT Where: Cambridge City Hall 795 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA 02138 OurHarvardSq will be at the meeting to forge a collaborative and transparent design process for Harvard Square Kiosk and Plaza that will result in DESIGN EXCELLENCE. This is a very exciting moment. Team members from Cambridge Department of Public Works, Community Development Department will share the work they have done to kick start the planning and design process for the Kiosk and Plaza. Here are some key milestones that we believe will help get us to excellence in the next phases of Design and Implementation: 1/LANDMARK DESIGNATION: Let's protect the Kiosk so we have solid ground to stand on moving forward. 2/DESIGN COMPETITION: Let's build upon the foundational groundwork done by the City and create a Design Competition for Harvard Square Redesign. The Competition would be a call to the architecture, planning and design communities, social justice, and community-development initiatives to collaborate. It would result in the design outcome for Harvard Square Kiosk and Plaza. Let's think holistically! 3/INFORMATION SHARING: Let's get on the same page and make a centralized Web Destination for the Harvard Square Redesign. This could be in the form of a "Single Folder" for easy web-accessible information. 4/DIVERSE TASK FORCE: We wish to help assemble the most diverse and talented group of stakeholders at the table for the Harvard Square Kiosk Task Force. Let's invite members of the Design Community, greater Harvard Square Community, as well as City Officials. We have so much energy to draw from.
