Calvert County Residents demanding to VOTE for data centers.

Calvert County Residents demanding to VOTE for data centers.
The Issue
In recent years, Calvert County in Maryland has become an attractive site for data center developers, capitalizing on our strategic location close to major networks.
The construction and operation of data centers can significantly affect our community's environment, economy, wildlife and daily life. We need to thoroughly understand how these centers would impact our local water supply, energy consumption, traffic patterns, and noise levels. In the long term. We deserve clear insights into the economic promises often tied to such developments. Will they
truly deliver on job creation and local investment, or will they merely exploit our resources? Promise to build a park and never finish? Accidentally polluting local water way and paying the fine instead of fixing the problem.
Unkept promises by big tech that has moved into a rural area. Its already happening all over the country.
To safeguard our future, our children's, the future of Calvert County.
We call upon our county leaders to pause any impending data center projects. Let all commit to transparency and facilitate open dialogues with local citizens. Together, we can ensure that Calvert County adopts a path of sustainable growth, beneficial to all.
We the people who call Calvert County home, We the TAX Payers, have every reason to demand clarity and knowledge on what we will live with.
We support a moratorium.
We will be the ones who deal with the construction.
WE will be the ones who deal with water contamination or consumption.
We will be the ones who pay LOCAL electricity bills.
The distribution fee.
We enjoy our Nature. Every Part of it.
We don't want industry in our backyards.
We support a moratorium.
Its needs to be proven that it won't affect the surrounding environment.
Miles from the data center not feet.
Long term affect of the noise in the area.
Long term affect of the lights in the area.
Long term affect of the WHOLE area.
Not a quick study. These data centers could possibly outlive the next generation of citizens who are in elementary school.
Once it gets turned on. Its ON. No shutting down on weekends or holidays. it's ON all the time.
We deserve a Voice. We pay our taxes. We are raising generation of Calvert County. We will be dealing with the data centers for the rest
our lives here. OUR home in the beautiful southern Maryland. We live on such a unique environment on our peninsula.
It HAS to be voted on by the people who will be living with it for the rest of their lives.
This isn't a republican or democrat. Black or White. This is an everyone issue.
WE are the ones who VOTE local commissioners in.
We Will remember how you vote come election time.
CALVERT RESIDENTS DESERVE A VOICE IN DATA CENTERS OR ANY NEW HEAVY INDUSTRIAL IN OUR COUNTY.
