Calling for the principal of Cape Academy to step down.
The Issue
Dear Mrs Naidu ,
We, the undersigned, staff members , parents, community members and supporters of Cape Academy are writing to express our deep concern about the toxic environment that has been created at Cape Academy of Mathematics Science and Technology under your leadership.
We believe that your continued presence as principal is detrimental to the well-being of the school community and that it is in the best interest of all involved if you step down from your position immediately.
Our concerns are based on the following issues:
Bais Racism: We believe that you have demonstrated bias and racism towards certain members of the school community. Your actions have created an unwelcoming and hostile environment for people of color and those from marginalized communities. We believe that this behavior is unacceptable and has no place in our school.
Nepotism: We have noticed that there is a pattern of favoritism towards certain staff members who have personal connections with you. This nepotism has resulted in the hiring of unqualified individuals and the promotion of staff members who lack the necessary skills and experience to perform their duties effectively.
Staff Bullying: We have witnessed and experienced firsthand bullying behavior from you towards staff members who disagree with your decisions or who challenge your authority. This behavior has resulted in a culture of fear and intimidation among staff members, which has had a negative impact on morale and the overall functioning of the school.
There are also allegations that you have engaged in underhanded activities. These have compromised the integrity of the school's administration.
We believe that these issues are serious and cannot be ignored. We call on you to step down as principal and allow the school to move forward under new leadership. We are confident that with a new principal in place, the school can begin to heal and rebuild trust within the community.
Sincerely,
The Community
