Call to Action to Save These Horses

Call to Action to Save These Horses
The Issue
My name is Hannah, and I am a former employee of Black Diamond Friesian Farms. During my time working there, I witnessed ongoing conditions that raised serious concerns for the welfare of the horses on the property.
These concerns included poor living conditions in the horses’ enclosures, inadequate shelter, lack of consistent veterinary care, improper herd management, and disturbing practices related to the handling and disposal of deceased horses. The overall conditions created an environment that placed the horses’ health and safety at risk.
The farm’s owner is currently facing felony charges related to firearm possession. During the investigation of the property, authorities observed that the condition of the horses had reportedly deteriorated even further since my time working there. Despite these findings, the District Attorney has determined that animal-related issues will be handled through municipal citations rather than criminal charges.
While the owner has been ordered to remove animals from the property, many members of the public believe this action alone does not adequately address the suffering these horses have endured.
This petition calls for the immediate seizure and safe relocation of the more than 30 horses currently under this ownership so they may receive proper veterinary care, safe housing, and humane treatment. Horses are intelligent, sensitive animals that depend on responsible human care for their well-being.
No animal should be left to suffer due to neglect. By signing this petition, we ask authorities to take meaningful action to ensure these horses are protected and placed in conditions where they can recover and live safely.
