Call on the Australian Government to grant visas to Syrian families' members

Call on the Australian Government to grant visas to Syrian families' members
The issue
We, the undersigned, urgently call on the Australian Immigration Department and the Albanese Government to allow the immediate family members of Syrian immigrants and refugees in Australia to seek asylum and migrate to our Australia.
The situation in Syria has escalated dramatically, with HTS opposition forces seizing control of Aleppo and Hama and advancing southward towards Homs. If Homs was to fall, that would put Damascus the capital city, and its millions of inhabitants directly at risk. This rapidly deteriorating situation places countless lives at risk, particularly among minorities who would face direct threats and persecution.
Why This Matters:
- The ongoing violence and instability in Syria have created an environment of fear, especially for vulnerable communities and minorities.
- Immediate family members of Syrian immigrants and refugees in Australia are at heightened risk of persecution and violence due to the current circumstances.
- Allowing them to seek asylum would not only save lives but also provide peace of mind for those of us already in Australia, knowing our loved ones are safe.
We urge the Australian government and opposition to take swift action to reunite families and provide safety to those who are in imminent danger.
