As far as we know, the NAIA "campus visit" to New College of florida is happening today, despite red flag after red flag, from the misrepresentations by recruiters to the embarrassing application to the brazen conflicts of interest.

All NAIA has to do to preserve their reputation and avoid a winter of bad PR is to stop moving forward. That the NAIA is rushing it is a sign: the fix is in. 

The New College interim administration does not have integrity, does not show respect, does not practice serve them leadership. 

Before I (Mike Sanderson) started this petition in May, I didn't know anything about the NAIA, but my first impression it is a good good organization, and an organization that placed such emphasis on character and values wouldn't want anything to do with the New College hostile takeover. Now I know a great deal about the NAIA, down to the level of bylaws, and I'm deeply disappointed. Maybe it's just desperation for members, maybe it's institutional capture by movement Christians--with their own brazen secular conflict of interest-- but the willingness to go along with this and claim all their "champions of character" is appalling. 

Today is the NCF campus visit; tomorrow NAIA will unveil its "Champions of Character" scorecard winners. The same organization that has rigged the game to put NCF on the glide path to membership doesn't have any standing to judge other institutions' character. 

Sarasota is currently experiencing a literal drought. America is experiencing a moral drought. As the NAIA team sits in the Cook Hall conference room or wherever, and pretends everything is normal, everything is not normal, and one thing they can never say is that they weren't told.
