We, the concerned students and community members of Langley High School, are urging an immediate investigation and, if necessary, removal of Lisa Taweel regarding her conduct and leadership as Assistant Principal of our school.

Langley High School should be a bastion of learning and growth, representing an environment where students feel supported and treated with respect. Unfortunately, numerous reports of unprofessional behavior under Ms. Taweel's leadership have led to a marked decline in student sentiment toward learning, creating a pressing need for reevaluation of her position and practices.

Repeated reports of unfair treatment and feeling targeted are affecting the school experience and well-being of countless students. Compounding over time, these issues are turning Langley High School into a hostile environment, contrary to the multifaceted emotional, communal, and educational values and expectations we hold. Students describe her decisions as “lacking transparency” and interactions as “stifling student self-advocacy”; her conduct has consistently fallen short of the professionalism required of a leader at Langley High School.

We are imploring the school board and district officials to address our pleas for an investigation assessing our pressing concerns as a community.
