The issue

For more than 18 months, a 7-year-old student at Our Lady of Fatima, Kingsgrove, has allegedly experienced ongoing bullying while her family repeatedly sought support and intervention through the school.

After feeling that little meaningful action was being taken to protect her daughter, the child’s mother continued advocating for her safety and wellbeing. In response, she was banned from the playground and at a later date, police were called to her daughter’s athletics carnival, where she was escorted away while simply trying to watch her little girl participate.

The family says they were told another student’s safety was the school’s number one priority — but what about the safety and wellbeing of the child who has allegedly endured 18 months of bullying?

No child should feel unsafe going to school. No parent should feel silenced or excluded for trying to protect their child after exhausting every avenue for help.

This petition calls on Our Lady of Fatima, Kingsgrove, and relevant education authorities to take stronger action on bullying concerns, improve support for affected families, and ensure every child is given a safe and supportive learning environment before situations escalate to this point.

We want change.
