Omar Alghabra's association with Islamist terrorist organizations raises significant concerns for me and many others in our community. As someone who has witnessed the devastating impact of antisemitism and the critical importance of addressing it effectively, I am deeply troubled by his involvement in the Council against Antisemitism in Canada.

Mr. Alghabra has a documented history of advocating for and supporting organizations that have been linked to Islamist terrorism. Such associations are alarming given the council's mission to combat antisemitism—a deeply rooted and complex issue that requires credible and unbiased leadership.

It is unconscionable to have someone with such a track record on a council that is meant to protect and promote the safety of Jewish communities across our nation. Antisemitism is a scourge that has no place in our society, and we need leaders who are irreproachable in their commitment to fight against it.

I urge Mark Carney and Minister Marc Miller to take immediate action and remove Omar Alghabra from his position. By doing so, they will reinforce the integrity and credibility of the Council against Antisemitism and demonstrate their unwavering commitment to tackling hatred in all its forms.
