MRI scans are more effective on dense breasts than a mammogram alone.  

There is a FAST MRI trial in several towns in the UK. 

This UK‑based study invites women aged 50–52 years with average breast density and a clear first screening mammogram, offering a FAST MRI scan in addition to the mammogram to see if cancers missed by mammography can be detected by MRI
