Another busy year, working to educate both healthcare professionals, mammography students and women about dense breasts. 

Certain progress in Europe which hopefully will impact UK future screening. 

A reminder: The European Society of Breast Imaging recommendations include: 

1. Women should be told about their breast density. 
2. Following a mammogram, MRI should be offered to women with extremely dense breasts. If MRI not available, ultrasound. 

Reminder 2:  Mammograms plus extra scans

In certain towns in England and Scotland, the BRAID trial is ongoing. Women who attend a mammogram appointment, and dense breasts detected, may be asked to join, and may receive further scans.
