This is a message from journalist and BBC TV presenter, Vicky Derbyshire, who has recently finished her breast cancer treatment. She is asking people to contribute to an e-book called 'Dear Cancer - Things to Help You Through' MESSAGE: 'LOVELIES! thank you very much to everyone who's sent in their wit, wisdom and advice for the free ebook coming out in August. It's going to be called '#dearcancer - Things To Help You Through', and there is still time if you wish to submit something. If you would like to write down a short piece of advice, something you perhaps wished you'd known early on in your cancer experience, of upto 250 words, then do email it to dearcancer@orionbooks.co.uk You can write from the point of view of being a patient, or the friend or relative of the patient. It can be practical, emotional, both - whatever YOU want to write, and it does have to be original. We'll select some and put them together in the ebook. One pertinent bit of wisdom I received came on my first 'official' day of living with cancer. It was from a friend who'd had breast cancer several years earlier. Natalie advised me not to spend time on Google trying to look things up (!), and suggested I choose one reputable cancer website to refer to for accurate information. She was right. Thank you SO much to everyone who's taken the time to write in so far.'
