1. Support for the Censure of Representative Al Green:

On March 6, 2025, Representative Gluesenkamp Perez was among ten Democrats who joined Republicans in voting to censure Representative Al Green of Texas. Representative Green’s actions during President Trump’s address were a courageous stand against policies threatening vital programs like Medicaid, which many of our district’s residents rely upon. By supporting his censure, Representative Gluesenkamp Perez has sided against a fellow Democrat advocating for vulnerable populations.

2. Failure to Oppose Anti-Democratic Actions:

The current administration, under President Trump, has undertaken measures that many perceive as undermining democratic institutions and norms. Representative Gluesenkamp Perez’s lack of vocal opposition to these actions raises concerns about her commitment to safeguarding our democracy.

3. Misalignment with District Values:

Our district values representatives who stand firmly against authoritarianism and advocate for the rights and well-being of all constituents. Representative Gluesenkamp Perez’s recent actions suggest a departure from these principles, leading to a loss of confidence in her ability to represent us effectively.

In light of these concerns, we believe that Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez no longer represents the best interests of Washington’s 3rd Congressional District and should resign her position.
