Call Citizens Assembly to consider replacing party-based system with Stewardship Democracy
The Issue
We have filed the petition to the government “Call Citizens Assembly to consider replacing party-based system with Stewardship Democracy“.
So, if you support our proposal, then SIGN THE PETITION NOW. Read the justification below...
The existing party-based parliamentary systems are dominated by short electoral cycles, adversarial politics, party discipline and competition for power.
Decisions are frequently shaped by political advantage rather than by long-term national interests, so the current democratic system is poorly equipped for extreme challenges as we are facing right now. One of them, which may come about in just 1-3 years is the escape of advanced AI which may then quickly multiply itself and practically takeover the governance over the planet. Very recent still relatively mild episodes this week (27-31/7) confirm this. How serious is the problem, which is far more severe and more imminent than global warming or even conventoinal wars is this:
On 17th June 2026, at the G7 summit meeting in Evian, the leaders of three of the world’s most advanced AI organisations, Google, OpenAI and Anthropic, warned the G7 leaders that the Artificial General Intelligence (immature Superintelligence) may emerge in 1 to 5 years and quite likely will be outside of human control.
Therefore, governments have a short transition period in which they will not only have to align such an advanced AI with main goals of humanity, but also take exceptionally difficult, rapid and far-reaching decisions to prevent most serious national and global disorder. This may concern national security, employment, fair economic redistribution, safety of public services, energy or uninterrupted supply chain.
During such a unique transition citizens may be asked to accept profound, painful decisions. For citizens to accept such measures without severe social unrest may only be possible if they could fully trust their government.
That is why Sustensis - a Think Tank, which has focused for over a decade on these issues, proposes a new democratic system , called Stewardship Democracy. It was developed by Tony Czarnecki, the author of six books on civilisational transition to Superinteligence and new models of democracy required for coexistence with the most advanced AI.
Stewardship Democracy is a non-party, competence-based and citizen-authorised system in which elected Stewards stand on their individual manifestos to serve the interests of citizens rather than parties. You will find a detailed description of the whole proposal here.
Sustensis has already got the support of other organisations such as London Futurists, which for nearly 20 years has been contributing globally on the most effective transition scenarios to coexistence with Superintelligence.
