If there is a “physician shortage” then work to fill it with those trained to be Physicians. NOT mid level providers.

Hi Jessica Hayes, I would like to explain to you that YES, this PhA project (or it is short form for PhA-eAML Physician Associates and the Ecosaver Attainable Medical Licensing Project) has two steps: step 1 is from ECFMG certificate to become PhA Physician Associate license so that these PhAs would work 3 to 4 years and their credentials from working on the fields will be evaluated so that they will be finalized their MD licenses. This is the part of step 2 eAML Ecosaver Attainable Medical Licensing of the project. A little further explanation, AML is also Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which I use the same acronym to indicate the system needs a radical solution the same as AML treatment.
The truth about the PhA project is similar to the current residency system because you still have to work in a residency program 3 years to have the licenses, but for this PhA license, it is more realistic to be in communities instead of the boundaries of residency program privileged teaching hospitals like the current system.
In other words, the PhA project is a more realistic residency system. Of course, we will have to build a solid credentialing with the quality we want to ensure our services to the communities. But, I believe we can make it.
I hope I explain your inquiry?
please let me know.
thanks
Katherine Miller
