Thank you!

Hey all-

I’m sure you’ve probably seen the email from Dr. Hill by now. But in case you missed it, he announced earlier today that BUSD will continue our current distance learning model for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year! Which is a huge relief after all of the uncertainty and back and forth of the last few weeks. So, yay!

Thanks to your ongoing support, our petition was signed by a whopping 835 Burbank parents, teachers and administrators during the course of our campaign. Thank you again for that and also for getting the word out and working so tirelessly for the cause. You guys rocked it!

I am hopeful that now that this debate is firmly in the rearview mirror we can come together as a community to help address the ongoing issues of those most negatively impacted by the pandemic and our current distance learning model.

Now that we know what the rest of the school year will look like I hope we can focus all of our energy on helping make sure that no one falls through the cracks right now – especially during the holidays! The road ahead will be challenging, but I am confident that if we work together to show our teachers and families who are struggling that we have their backs, we can do amazing things. We got this!

Thanks again for everything!
