Can you believe that Burger King has just announced it will only serve cage-free eggs in all its restaurants in New Zealand, starting in September of this year? Of course this is good news, but what about us here in Latin America, who have been demanding this change for months? Together we can tell Burger King we also care about animal welfare and we want the torture of hens in cages to stop here too – not just in North America, Europe and New Zealand. We are not worth less and we also deserve more ethical and better quality food. Cage-free eggs are not only better for animals, but for us too. They are safer for people to eat, as they represent a lower risk of salmonella contamination.
