Burger King is trying to please animal lovers, people who often decide to stay away from meat to help reduce their suffering. Last year, it became the first nationwide hamburger chain to offer a veggie burger in Brazil. But don’t be fooled: Burger King’s veggie burger still contains cruelty. It contains mayonnaise that comes from hens who are kept in cages for their whole lives, and who knows where the cheese comes from. And worse: on its Brazilian website, Burger King claims its veggie burger does not contain ‘animal protein’. That is absolutely nonsense! Cheese and mayonnaise contain animal protein and very often come from animals who are tortured for their whole lives in industrial systems!
