Can you believe that Burger King just promised to stop buying eggs from cruel cages, but left Latin America out of its timeline? We must take action and let Burger King know that this is NOT right! In its new pledge, Burger King says it will not buy eggs from battery cages in North America – which includes the United States, Canada and Mexico - by 2025. While the announcement mentions that the policy is “global”, it does NOT give any date for any other Latin American country besides Mexico. This means that Burger King can continue ignoring the horrible suffering that egg-laying hens endure throughout Latin America. And worse: the announcement says nothing about cages for pigs. This means that pigs will stay locked in cages where they cannot even turn around. This is a big hypocrisy, especially because one of the owner's of the Burger King group is from Latin America! His name is Jorge Paulo Lemann, Brazil’s richest man according to Forbes magazine. So today, let’s send messages to Mr. Lemann telling him animals deserve to be free from cages everywhere, and not only in North America. Check the instructions below and take action for animals now! Facebook: Go to Mr. Lemann’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/JorgePauloLemannOficial/ and leave the following comment: Mr. Lemann: torturing animals in cages must stop everywhere, not just in North America. Please demand Burger King to set a deadline for the end of battery cages and gestation crates in Latin America. www.change.org/burgerkingcages #BKcages Twitter: Click here http://ctt.ec/8aiR5 to tweet the following message to Burger King and Mr. Lemann: .@BurgerKing stop torturing animals in cages in Latin America too. Be consistent, @lemannoficial! #BKcages change.org/burgerkingcages After leaving these messages, please also invite your friends to take part! Together we are stronger!
