Okay people … We need your help no matter where you are in Australia!
Queensland government has undertaken a review of their current cruelty legislation. Not much has changed in the past 20 years and this process is fairly limited in our opinion. The new legislation is being reviewed as we type.
This is where YOU can make a difference.
Please contact the committee here -

And in your own words highlight:
*You want glue traps banned as they are inhumane and indiscriminate
*They are currently easily available and people don’t use them properly or check them often, leaving animals to die a long painful death
* Any experience you have had with rescuing animals from glue traps

Or you can email SDRIC@parliament.qld.gov.au asking for your opinion to be recorded.
What is really needed is a Royal Commission into the treatment of animals and how we care for our wildlife. But meanwhile we want to bring their attention to the lack of review of impacts on wildlife, particularly the lack of mentioning glue traps.
We have very little time as submissions need to be in by Midday Wednesday 1st June. Please let us know you have made a submission by commenting "DONE" in the comments below so we can keep track of numbers.
They only received just under 1500 submissions for the entire cruelty laws review so we need them to take the objection to glue traps seriously. Other countries have banned them, we need to as well.
Hopefully we can create a domino effect and get other states to follow, and have the issue “front of mind” when we get an Independent Office of Animal Protection.
