Letting an animal die of thirst is cruelty. Plain and simple.
The photo is a Stephens Banded Snake that was caught on this perfectly legal glue trap in Forster Tuncurry NSW. This dead animal clearly died of dehydration. It would have taken days or more likely weeks. Can you even begin to imagine how that must feel.
This is often the outcome if an animal is caught on glue boards and insect traps.
The Stephens Banded Snake is a threatened species in NSW.
Please send the image highlighted with red to the Threatened Species Committee NSW and ask them to investigate the impact of glue traps on Threatened Species like this Stephens. There email is -

Laying glue traps are opposed by RSPCA as they cause severe suffering. If you are not checking traps regularly you will be in breach of animal cruelty laws.
Even if wildlife carers are able to get to animals before they die the process for removing the glues is intensive.
The link below is to a series of photos of a Red Bellied Black Snake ensnared by multiple traps, available at places like Bunnings. It was rescued by Catherine and Sam Jaye. As Red bellies are highly venomous a restraint tube was used to stop him biting the trauma team. The entire process took more than half an hour.

These images will give you an understanding of the managed risks carers take and why we want glue traps banned Australia wide.
Please continue to get our petition asking Bunnings to stop selling glue traps out to others so they can see the risks these traps create.
