We, the petitioners, are calling on the WA State Government to take immediate action and deliver an emergency investment in a homeless shelter for Bunbury.

The housing crisis and rising numbers of homelessness are not likely going to end anytime soon.

Right now, there is an urgent call from our community for a shelter to
accommodate:
• the visible homeless (e.g., rough sleepers)
• the invisible homeless who are living in cars, tents, garages or who are
couch surfing (e.g., the working poor, sole parents with children,
unemployed people, people down on their luck, and aged persons)

A Shelter will provide a safe place to sleep, access to cooking and showering facilities, shelter from extreme weather conditions, and contact with other support services.

Bunbury urgently needs a Shelter to reduce the demands placed on our
emergency and care workers (e.g., police, ambulance, hospital, rangers and
homeless support services).
