Build the Southwater foothpath

Build the Southwater foothpath

The Issue

When the development at Martindales was built, over £70,000 was allocated for local transport infrastructure.

As part of this there is money available to create a safe footpath on Blakes Farm Road between the RSPCA roundabout, and 'Hangmans Hill' roundabout at the northern edge of Southwater.

The project will cost more than the money allocated, and so, to unlock more money needed, we, the community, need to demonstrate to local government that the project is supported by local people.

The footpath is current unsafe, with residents, pushchairs, wheelchairs, walkers, runners, children and everyone who uses the area having to walk in the road. The road is shared by HGV's and a footpath was separate this out and make it safer.

Therefore, we the undersigned, support the petition for a safe footpath to be built, as soon as possible, using money set aside by local councils working together.
