Eastmont High School’s student population has been growing steadily. With that, more student parking spots are taken. The parking situation at Eastmont High School has gotten so overwhelming, students must resort to parking illegally (on lines, teacher lots, handicapped) just to get to school on time. Even arriving early does not ensure students a spot. The teacher lot has many empty spaces, but students are exempt from this area. Instead of listening to the students, the administrators have taken a more hostile approach. They have ticketed students and towed cars. In the end, the students are wrongfully blamed for lack of parking, which is completely out of their control. It’s looking highly unlikely that they will add more parking, despite the fact that Eastmont owns a dirt plot near the school that can be utilized for parking. Action must be taken to bring the students what they deserve: parking.
