Our National Basketball Team that represents England is not up to standard. England has been a mockery due to the low-quality facilities and destroyed outdoor courts. The building of new Basketball Courts provides opportunities for people to hone their craft and maybe even partake in professional sports in the future, which in cases of national championships and tournaments, would result in greater funding to the sports industry and a more inclusive atmosphere towards certain sports. For example, Football is the most popular sport in the world, with countries like England, France, Argentina and Portugal being grouped as the best in the world, it is obvious that it would bring excitement across the world. However, could we do the same thing with Basketball? With Basketball being one of the most popular sports in the world too, particularly in the USA, it would be reasonable to beleive that adequate funding would be provided towards the sport; this has not happened and the few Basketball Courts currently standing remain a scarcity and almost always of poor quality. We need to act now. We need to act now because youthful children who have discovered their passions for basketball are being tormented with the lack of adequate support while their dream continues to be 'hiding behind the shadow' of football.
