The Residents, Parents and children of Edmondson Park have waited long enough for a new High School.

After years of campaigning for a new High School and having been promised funding and approval by the previous Liberal Party State Government for a Traditional High School to be Built on the NSW Education site on Buchan Ave the construction must commence NOW.

Funding for the Edmondson Park High School was announced in June 2021 by the former Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell in response to a parliamentary petition lodged by then shadow Minister  Prue Car. The funding for the school was included in the 2021/2022 Budget.

The former Minister for Education was considering an alternative of a Vertical High School in Edmondson Park CBD to be built by Fraser's Developments an idea which has been scrapped.

Now that the NSW State Election is over and the new Minister for Education Prue Car has been sworn in we need to let her know that the Edmondson Park Community wants theTraditional High School built on Buchan Ave NOW.

With FUNDING APPROVED for the Edmondson Park High School back in June 2021 and having two years to complete the planning and design there is no good reason to delay the commencement of the Construction of the Edmondson Park High School NOW.

STAGE 1 of the New High School for Edmondson Park High School must commence NOW to accommodate the growing population. So many children are having to travel out of area to receive their education.

Two years have passed since the funding announcement was made by the former Liberal State Government which is ample time to have the project designed and plans prepared and approved and ready to commence work NOW.

We urge the Minister for Education to START construction of the Edmondson Park High School without further delay.
