Hey Everyone!
Thank you for your support thus far. We're half way to 100! What that means is that if everyone could convince just 1or 2 people in their circles to sign up either by sharing the petition on FB or Twitter, calling a friend, emailing someone directly, messaging someone directly, bringing it up in conversation, whatever you can do, we'll make 100 signatures in no time! We can do this, we can make our voices heard.
Let me catch you up on the developments.
1) "Congratulations! Your petition [Build Blue Pier] was just promoted by a supporter in Florida to other users on Change.org."
-- I didn't know that this could happen, but it did! Which means that YOU also can help push this effort with a few dollars so that it reaches a wider audience (I think it's like $5, not bad). We're gaining momentum and any little bit will help. Let's do this!
2) Another article came out about our Build Blue Pier effort -- the coverage is mounting! http://www.saintpetersblog.com/archives/220096
3) There was a quote in Creative Loafing about a public comment in support of Blue Pier during the selection meeting. Most of the coverage was about those who spoke for Alma and Destination, but we got picked up -- because this is an important issue for our area and a lot of people know, like you, that Blue Pier was the most functional, timeless, use of OUR public space. http://cltampa.com/politicalanimal/archives/2015/03/21/pier-panel-narrows-design-list-postpones-ranking-after-long-long-long-long-meeting#.VRly7maTKkQ
4) Lastly, the Letter to the Editor that was picked up by the TBT, also got picked up by the Tampa Tribune. People ARE listening and even the media see's our viewpoints as valid.
Keep up the good work!!!
-Ryan
