The Issue

For people in the Kildare area, we often find ourselves looking for spaces where we can practice dynamic sports like parkour. Unfortunately, the only quality parkour park available to us is in Blanchardstown, a location that is not easily accessible for many, especially young people who rely on public transport or parental assistance to practice.

This lack of a dedicated parkour park in Kildare limits the ability of many passionate parkour practitioners to loose their skills and engage less in a sport that is incredibly beneficial, both physically and mentally. Parkour promotes not just fitness, but also confidence, creativity, and resilience. It encourages its practitioners to push boundaries, face challenges, and view the world around them in intriguing and exciting new ways.

The community of Kildare has too many people of all ages who are eager to find outlets for their energy and creativity. Building a parkour park in our locality would offer a much-needed space for them to safely and effectively engage in this sport. Additionally , it would encourage community interaction, foster a spirit of inclusion, and help in building a healthier community overall.

According to the World Health Organization, insufficient physical activity is a leading risk factor for non-communicable diseases globally, and environments like parkour parks can play an instrumental role in changing this narrative.

We are requesting support to prioritize the development of a parkour park in Kildare. This facility would not only serve as a training ground for aspiring athletes but also as a community hub, promoting health, well-being, and relationships .

Please join us in advocating for a parkour park in Kildare. Your signature will help demonstrate to decision-makers that there is a significant public demand. It’s time we pave the way for a more active and engaged community.

Sign this petition to show your support for building a parkour park in Kildare and help provide our youth with the opportunity to engage in a sport they love at home.
