Build a new park in Woodside for our children

Build a new park in Woodside for our children
The Issue
Woodside, the oldest and most historic part of Glenrothes, has long been neglected by the local council in terms of community investment and infrastructure development. Despite Glenrothes' rich history, the council's attention has dwindled over the years, leaving Woodside residents feeling unsupported and forgotten. Yet, in recent years, other areas have benefited from millions of pounds of funding, seeing the creation of new parks and community upgrades that we, the residents of Woodside, can only dream of.
Woodside is a community rich in history, where generations have lived and grown together. Our community deserves the same level of investment that other parts of Glenrothes have received. Our children need a safe and accessible place to play and grow, a place where families can gather and create new memories. At present, they do not have this basic facility and it is time to change that. The council has the power to transform our neighborhood, to foster community spirit and ensure our children have a healthy environment to thrive in.
We propose the allocation of funds from the local budget to build a new park in Woodside. This would not only provide essential facilities for our children but would also enhance the community as a whole. The park could feature modern play equipment, green spaces for picnics and relaxation, and safe pathways for easy accessibility. By investing in our community, the council would demonstrate its commitment to all of Glenrothes, not just a select few areas.
Past investments in other areas of the city are clear examples of the positive impact such developments can have. Crime rates have dropped, property values have improved, and community engagement has been revitalized. The same can be achieved in Woodside with the right investment, making it a place where families feel proud to live and children are excited to play.
We call on the Glenrothes council to invest in Woodside by building a new park for our children and our future. Together, we can make a difference and guarantee that Woodside's legacy includes the bright, inclusive, and supportive community that it deserves to be. Please sign this petition to help make our dream a reality.
