The closure of the Museum made the front page of today’s Hoddesdon edition of the Mercury, with more on page four including the comment of the Council.

i am talking to the Mercury tomorrow so expect a follow up next week.

Ironically on page 18 of the same newspaper there is an article about school students taking over and running the Waltham Abbey Museum for the day.

Broxbourne Borough’s report on Lowewood Museum was all about finances, but nothing was mentioned about the value offered by the Museum which will be lost. Lowewood offers real value to Borough schools, but this is not mentioned in the report. Does the Cabinet really understand what value this adds to their educational offering? Were schools consulted about the proposed closure? Of course they weren’t!
