The Issue

The nearest shelter in Broken Arrow is the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter, in Oklahoma. They are a HIGH KILL SHELTER.

Many of our citizens just do not have the resources to get there to claim their pets, or put flyers out, some don't even have internet! Many pets are lost for months before they are found.

Making the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter a no kill shelter would increase the chances of a loved one finding their lost pet. Not to mention, would give the pets there a chance at LIFE, and finding a forever home... If they just had more time.

I know that many animals get dumped, their owners die, etc..there are a number of situations in which an animal would become a stray. Why do we have to kill them all?

Couldn't we simply relocate some city tax revenue to help support the shelter so that it can build a bigger permanent housing, hold more adoption events, hire more employees, and help marketing so that more people SEE the animals there, maybe even training for some of the animals to become service animals, and therefore increase revenue from the shelter.

I would love to hear more reasons WHY we need this to be a no kill shelter, and HOW we can make that possible.

These animals don't have a voice, so we are their only chance at a great life, full of happiness. Please sign, share, and LOVE.
