99 MILES FOR FREEDOM

Billy's friend Robbie Semple, A Kintyre Army reservist is currently training for an attempt at no less than two major events in as many weeks. Sergeant Robbie Semple from 7th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland is training for the 2017 Virgin London marathon followed two weeks later by a 73 mile mountain bike race that criss crosses the hills of the Kintyre peninsula, Robbie plans to use the events to raise money and awareness for his mate Billy and the men who are currently facing the horrific conditions of Puzhal Prison in Chennai. Sgt Semple aged 46 is a keen runner but has never ran more than a half marathon and at the time when he entered the Kintyre Way Ultra cycle race had never ridden a bike off road! “Maybe I am crazy but when it gets tough I will just think about Billy and his mates and think my pain is only for today and I can go home to my family tonight”. I know lots of ex-Soldiers who are channelled towards security work as it is their skill set and no one does it better . The events take place on April 23rd - The London Marathon and May 6th The Kintyre Way. I hope we can all get behind Robbie in this huge challenge. The link to support him and the men is below.
