After Prince Harry and Prince Charles lending their invaluable and hugely welcomed support to our men and the campaign to free them we are asking Boris Johnson To show his support and more importantly take the relevant action to bring our boys home.
Below is a letter from the families to Boris Johnson. We desperately need his support and influence to free our men. The legal process in India is slow at best, and has already failed us in the past. Without political influence and intervention we are scared it'll be at very least 5 years before we get our men home. Please read and share our letter.
Dear Boris Johnson,
The past three years have been the longest and most heart-breaking years of our lives. The men we love are incarcerated in an Indian jail for a crime they did not commit.
They have been denied their human rights to freedom and denied their rights to watch their children grow up. They’ve been denied the right to provide for and protect their families. All because they were working to protect others.
We find it completely unbelievable that our Government is not fighting to free the very men who fought to protect the rights, safety and freedom of the people of our country and beyond. Our men risked their lives on tours of Afghanistan and Iraq. They provided security for our country. For your country. For you.
Our men may be veterans, but in their hearts they will always be British Soldiers and to us they are and always will be so much more.
They are our sons. We kissed them goodnight, wiped away their tears and promised to always protect them no matter how old they get.
They are our husbands. The men we fell in love with, who we chose to spend the rest of our lives with, nurtured a family with and who we made a vow to love for better and for worse, in sickness and in health.
They are our brothers, who teased us endlessly, broke our toys and who we argued night and day with. But they always defended us against others and we are lost without them.
They are our fathers, who love us unconditionally, will put their own lives before ours and would walk to the ends of the earth to make sure we are safe.
For three years we have asked the British Government to bring our men home. For three years we have been told you cannot intervene in another country's judicial system. But what if that system is wrong? What if they have taken innocent men and locked them up for a crime they did not commit? What if they have completely disregarded their own laws, taken away the basic human rights of a British citizen, and what if all the evidence, experts, and even YOU know they are innocent. How can you possibly stand by and watch this travesty of justice continue?
We ask you Boris, as our Foreign Minister, as an avid supporter of the forces and our veterans, and most of all as a human being, to help us. To help our men. To free the innocent and bring our men home to us.
Kind Regards,
The families of the Chennai 6
