It's been a few months since my last update. Mainly because our situation still remains the same, and I have no idea what to do next or who to turn to next for help. We delivered the Petition to Downing street and within a few days our Prime minister had changed, along with the foreign secretary and minister for Asia. Just when we had built up a relationship, and finally had Philip Hammond and Hugo Swire engaged and active in our case, are are back to square one. Fortunately there are thousands of people out there who have no given up hope, who continue to support the men, and their families and who will keep fighting for their freedom until the bitter end. One of them is Andrew Corcoran who was in the Parachute regiment along with John Armstrong, one of the men in prison. Not only did Andrew serve on the frontline with these men, but he too worked in maritime security, and understand the utter injustice of this whole situation. Andrew is doing a 247 Mile Cycle from Marine Walk in Sunderland to Liverpool beginning this Friday the 9th of September and ending on Sunday. His first leg will be from Marine Walk SUNDERLAND to HEXHAM BRIDGE Then From HEXHAM BRIDGE to BRAMPTON From BRAMPTON through CARLISLE and onto WIGTON where his first day of cycling will end. He will then cycle from WIGTON To MARYPORT where his coast to coast challenge will end and his long cycle to Liverpool begins. He will stop at WINDERMERE and spend the night, before travelling on through PRESTON and finishing in LIVERPOOL. I will attempt (I stress attempt as the last time i was on a bike was over 12 years ago, the bike I'm riding was bought as a gift from Billy about 2 weeks before he was arrested. His plan was to take me on a cycling and camping holiday around the Scottish outer Hebrides when he returned, and this will be the first time I have used it)to cycle from CARLISLE to WIGTON along with Joanne Verona Thomlinson- John Armstrongs sister If anyone else is free on any of these days, even just for a hour to cycle alongside him and give him some support he would be most grateful, or even just to make him a wee sandwhich or cup of tea as he passes by, he is also looking for a place to lay his head (and probably have a shower) in Windermere if anyone can assist!!!! You can donate to his fundraising page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sgo-paras which goes towards the mens legal fees Would love to see as many people there as possible..
