As the mens case runs in to 1000 days Captain Phillips has spoken out about the case for the first time.
You may have seen the Tom Hanks Movie about Captains Philips unarmed Ship which is hijacked by a crew of Somali pirates. Based on a true story, the film focuses on the Ships commanding officer, Captain Richard Phillips. The crew on board are subjected to a terrifying ordeal, and Captain Philips life was on the line.
Fortunately Captain Richard Philips survived to tell the tale, and has stressed how important it is to have armed guards on board merchant vessels.
Our men, are the very men who protect seafarers like captain Richard philips and his crew. Who ensure they feel safe at work, and to ensure they return home to their family and loved ones. Captain Philips' Story is not uncommon, and without men like ours protecting these seafarers there would have been many more.
The job The 6 British Veterans do, is a vital Job. It is a legal Job. and it is a necessary job to protect seafarers around the world. The must be released, these men cannot be punished any longer for a crime they did not, and could not have committed. We know they are innocent, The British Government know they are innocent. We just need India to now admit their mistake and release our men.
The seafareing world is not one i was very educated on until this travesty, But seafaring charities and support groups from all around the world, have spoken out in support of our men, and called for their release. The reason being, they understand what a important job they do, and understand that these men are guilty of nothing.
Along with the Mission to Seafarers, Human Rights at sear and many more. Master,Mates and Pilots, have been a massive support of our men.
Captain Richard Philips Has spoken out in support of our men, and we hope you will join him. #FREEOURVETERANS #FREESGO6
"I support Masters, Mates and Pilots position calling for the immediate release of crew of the anti-piracy vessel Seaman Guard Ohio. They are caught in the Indian judicial system and deserve to receive justice.”
