Hello again everyone, I appologise for the delay.
Firstly, I am "honoured", on behalf of the people whom "I" support through Qatuan, to thank all of YOU for reading our petition and considering it a cause worthy of your inclusion.
We attempted (yesterday) to edit the original message/ petition, such that it would "equally" be available in Brasilian Portuguese, in recognition of the language of the country, and it's people, and "THE" place (let's not mess about) that accepts the 'majority' of current societal concern - with regards to what is accepted throughout the western world, as "theirs"... and how we should ALL be dedicated to preserving/ conserving the Amazon, or her equivalent elsewhere... not forgetting Borneo/ Madagascar/ Congo/ China/ Russia/ Wildlife/ Diversity... everywhere... (I'd even include the USA if her people weren't so bloody self obsessed)... but that's not the point.
Rainforests (what are left of them, as YOU might acknowledge) may be "Their lungs" ... "Our lungs" if you prefer ... the "lungs of the planet" as particularly advertised, through progressive media engineering... BUT...
... It was ONLY upon recognition of the local/ National culture and the surrounding National cultures, a percentage of which are literally 'desperate' to be percieved as "successful", derived of financial and monetary means as visualized of first World countries, that we recognized a HUGE cultural epiphany, that 'somehow' together, we're going to have to overcome.
When we "translated" the text from English to Portuguese, we recognized that it would be better "interpreted"...
When we began interpreting it, we discovered that we were 'possibly' asking a little TOO much of a people that had been tortured, oppressed, exploited and subdued for approximately 4-600yrs by outside influence... Challenging even, the very BEST 'positive' governmental agencies - actually doing the RIGHT thing.
Such so, what "we" were proposing as a REALLY GREAT idea (in the knowledge of our European/ otherwise GLOBAL "f***up"), required of an up and coming people/ cultural diversity - to DENY, our "apparent" success... in favour of "our" failures.
... NOW ... think about THAT, long and hard!
it's true in the extreme... and complicated.
Ask yourself the following questions:
"Do I act as a responsible tenent of my surroundings"?
"Are my surroundings as they were over 1000yrs ago"?
"DOES it matter if they change - if so, HOW"?
"IF I had to allow 60% of my country to be delegated for the benefit of humans elsewhere, how would I feel about that" ... "especially, that they'd already failed whilst torturing my people" ...?
Those are but a miniscule of the questions presented to a people, that YOU are now asking to "allow" you to continue breathing?... whilst they torture, kill and ruin not ONLY themselves, but apparently "your" lungs.
As professionals, WE recognise the difference. We're certainly NOT saying this is going to be easy. Neither are we attempting to pull the wool over your eyes...
We're saying "F***"! ... this is going to be one HELL of a challenge.
We need AS MUCH POSITIVE THINKING and Global support as we can POSSIBLY FIND, not ONLY to aleviate any cultural differences, but to overcome some 400yrs of oppression AND allow a national body of people, recognize their Global WORTH.
South Africa managed it (on the surface) ... why can't Brasil/ S. America. do it for real.
Kind regards
Jamie.
