James Conway started this petition to British Embassy

Having recently registered our professional environmental network as a guarantee limited company (Qatuan Limited) in the United Kingdom, we are working towards becoming a recognized and UK registered Charity (Qatuan is a global network of environmental professionals, particularly specialized with water).

It is immediately obvious to us how contemporary changes in terms of deforestation are affecting the acceleration of global climate change and, we want to help promote indigenous management of our remaining rainforests in order to stem that deforestation process. We are looking to promote our goals through the development of a centre for sustainable development, situated central to the Brazil region of South America.

Within the remit of that development centre we hope to create a working sustainable farm, available to professionals, students and tourists wishing to better comprehend sustainable land use practices, particularly as they pertain to water and solutions based upon nature (NBS). It is our intention to both train and educate people using NBS, that they may better steward their local environment and communities within that environment, towards more ecologically beneficial municipalities worldwide.

The reason in particular for this petition, is to ask for support and funding from as wide a cross-section of our global society as possible to quite literally, "Help us, help you, help the Amazon".

As a small network of independent but international players, we became aware of the difficulties involved with creating a dedicated Charity Incorporated Organization (CIO) within Brazil and similarly, the difficulties facing foreign CIO's attempting to create effective change within her boarders, such that they are established externally.

The wonderful opportunity presented by "Qatuan" as a prospective CIO is that she  is already legitimate registered companies in both Brazil and now, the UK under the same Directorship. As a "CIO" in the UK, the charity can fund the "company" within Brazil to take respectable, responsible, honourable action free from possible corruption or untoward fees, leading to more effective and realistic results of the goals outlined above and also, take ownership of project landscapes and sustainable product sharing on behalf of the global community (within Brazil), such that together we 'DO' own the Amazon and are therefore "equally responsible for it".

The environmental professionals funded by and associated with the Qatuan network and CIO are in a far better position than most other small, independent charities, to help make effective and positive change both within Brazil and local to her boarders. It is with that peculiar strength that we genuinely ask all of you for your support.

A great many thanks for your time and signature to this partition.

Jamie Conway.
