Reintroduce direct flights from the UK to Menorca in the winter months

Until the last year or two there has been a fairly consistent direct winter flight service between the UK and Menorca. Historically Monarch had the route, and most recently easyJet picked up the route after Monarch closed down their operation.
However since easyJet dropped the Gatwick - Mahon route a couple of years ago there has been no direct service to the island. Homeowners, expats and tourists who wish to travel between November and March must travel via Palma, Barcelona or Madrid.
The twice weekly service from Gatwick was well used and also subsidised by the Consell in Menorca. Love Menorca Facebook group's 13.5k members are calling on a UK airline to reinstate this route. This could even operate as a double pick up - collecting from a Southern and Northern airport in the UK to maximise load numbers (Jet2 have proved that this could work by combining flights this summer), or perhaps a Palma flight dropping off in Menorca before returning to the UK.
A direct winter route would bring much needed winter visitors to the island as well as enabling residents from the UK and Menorca to travel back and forth easily.
Please sign the petition if you would find this route useful in the winter months - to indicate to the airlines that the interest is still there! Thank you.
