Thank you for continuing to support our petition to prevent the United Kingdom from being drawn into this escalating war.
As of this morning, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (the equivalent of the Red Cross) reports that 42,914 civilian structures have sustained damage as a result of the U.S.–Israeli airstrikes. Of these, 36,489 are residential homes — including 10,000 in Tehran — and 6,179 are commercial units. The scale of destruction has risen sharply in recent days.
The humanitarian impact is also reflected in mental health data. Between 28 February and the morning of 14 March, 67,460 calls were made to the Red Crescent’s counselling hotline, amounting to 297,358 minutes (over 4,000 hours) of psychological support provided to civilians affected by the airstrikes.
Medical infrastructure continues to be affected. At Gandhi Hospital, significant structural damage has been reported, with injuries among staff and the evacuation of all patients — including newborns and those requiring intensive care. This is one example among many hospitals across the country that have reportedly sustained damage.
The scale and speed of these developments underline why the United Kingdom must not be dragged into this unlawful war. Further escalation risks deepening regional instability, increasing displacement and contributing to a wider refugee crisis, while also threatening energy markets and placing additional pressure on British households already facing cost-of-living challenges.
Our petition calls for the UK to remain uninvolved, uphold international law, prioritise diplomatic solutions, and actively use its diplomatic influence to press the United States and other parties towards an immediate ceasefire.
Please continue to share the petition and encourage others to add their voice.
